In 1995 Edwin entered full-time pastoral ministry with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Newfoundland and Labrador (PAONL). He pastored with the PAONL for eleven years before joining the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

Before embracing full-time ministry, Edwin spent twelve years in managerial roles with an engineering firm and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador. This extensive experience endowed him with a rich reservoir of leadership skills, which he now brings to his pastoral role.

Edwin's educational journey is a testament to his commitment to the ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Theology from Masters College and Seminary in Toronto, Ontario, a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and a Master of Arts from Acadia University in Kentville, Nova Scotia. His scholarly background underscores his dedication to spiritual growth and leadership.

In September 2008, Edwin and Rhoda commenced their ministry at the Family Christian Centre (FCC), and under their guidance, the church has flourished and expanded significantly. They have both been the driving force behind visionary initiatives such as the Legacy Counselling Centre, the Wheaton-Penney Childcare Centre, and the Single Parent Mercy Ministry. These new ventures exemplify their commitment to nurturing strong and healthy families within the community.

Known for his boundless energy and unwavering passion, Edwin is a vibrant presence within the congregation and the broader community. His preaching and teaching style are characterized by directness and relatability, echoing the heartfelt desire for people to encounter Christ and embark on a transformative journey of discipleship.

Tim Enloe, Author/Conference Speaker and foremost teacher on the Holy Spirit, recently had this to say about Edwin’s leadership:

“Pastor Edwin Rideout has a proven track record of leading growing churches that are both community-relevant and spiritually vibrant. He is a gifted communicator who speaks from deep personal conviction and Christian experience. Pastor Edwin knows firsthand what Living Generously means, and by leaning in, you may never be the same!”

Jeremiah Raible, Effectiveness Coach at ABNWT District PAOC, recently wrote about one of Edwin’s published articles,

“This is so good. You take complex spiritual issues and handle them so well. Thanks for sharing.”

Edwin recently released a new book, Living Generously: Mysterious Joy.

Through captivating storytelling and insightful reflections, he unveils the obstacles that often hinder a generous heart—the hoarding culture, doubts about the recipients, or the fear of inadequacy. He skillfully guides us toward a mindset shift, showing how even modest contributions can significantly impact those in need. To purchase click here
